Overview

Product Summary

The ECM-563-48 family is a rugged embedded control system capable of operating in harsh automotive, marine and off-highway applications. The onboard floating-point unit and high clock frequency allow software to be developed in shorter times. The CAN 2.0B datalink ensures interoperability with other vehicle systems.

Features include:

  • Motorola MPC563, 56 MHz Microprocessor
  • Operating voltage: 8-16VDC
  • Operating temperature ranging from -40°C to 105 °C
  • Sealed connectors operable to 10 ft submerged

Family includes:

  • ECM-563-48-0701
  • ECM-563-48-0704
  • ECM-563-48-0705

Knock Inputs on the ECM48

ECM563-48-0702 (for Mercury) had knock, but that model never was released. The PCB still has the pads, but it’s not populated on any active models. If there were demand, we could create a version with knock.

Using One Shot Blocks

The One Shot output block does not work with the ECM-0563-48-701 on MotoHawk version 2011B and earlier. It is being added for upcoming versions of MotoHawk. The One Shot block may work on other versions of the ECM-0563-48, but that is unlikely.

Which models have two H-bridge circuits?

The ECM-563-48-0701 which has two H-bridge circuits, while all the other models in the ECM563-48 platform have one.

MPC5XX EEPROM Clarification

  • All XXX-563-48 controllers have 16k of EE
  • The ECM555-80 and ECM555-48-0710 have 8k
  • All other ECM555 have 4k
