MotoHawk 2010a Beta 6 has been released!  And, MotoTune / MotoServerRuntime 8.13.7.120 have been released!
With these releases, we provide new features which have been in progress for some time.  We are quite excited by these new capabilities and hope you find them beneficial.  This release notice email is longer than usual to describe the new features and some changes in installation methods.  Please review carefully.  As always, if you have questions or encounter difficulties, please contact your distributor or mcssupport@woodward.com for assistance.
***NEW***  These releases support Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit), and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).  Please note that this new support for 64-bit versions of Windows still requires using the MATLAB 32-bit versions at this time.  Support for MATLAB 64-bit versions is presently planned for MotoHawk 2010b, later this year.
This is Beta 6 for features in the MotoHawk 2010a release.
This beta provides a new installer experience, allowing for simultaneous "side-by-side" installs of different MotoHawk versions and easy re-configuration between installed MotoHawk releases using the MotoHawk Version Selector (from the Windows Start menu).  The side-by-side installer feature and MotoHawk Version Selector are described further in this Woodward MCS wiki article (http://mcs.woodward.com/support/wiki/index.php?title=Side_by_Side_Installer).
• Support for MATLAB 7.5 (R2007b) to MATLAB 7.10 (R2010a) and, in a subsequent service pack, MATLAB 7.11 (R2010b).
• Support for Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit), and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit), using MATLAB 32-bit versions.
• Side-by-Side installer with MotoHawk Version Selector.
• MPC 5554 112-pin targets**:  Add support for 48-2 encoder pattern.
MPC 5554 112-pin targets**:  Change FUELPR output driver to hardware-disable when STOP is asserted.

IMPORTANT details for installation and migration:
• Please use Windows Control Panel "Add/Remove Programs" to un-install any previous MotoHawk install before running these new installers.
• Starting with MotoHawk 2010a Beta 6, the MotoHawk licensing is de-coupled from the MotoTune / MotoServerRuntime version installed.  We recommend using the new MT / MSR 8.13.7.120 release, but MT / MSR 8.13.6.73 and 8.13.7.87 should work, as well, and you may need to continue using the earlier versions if you are also using an earlier MotoHawk version (with the Side-by-Side installer and MotoHawk Version Selector).  MotoTune and MotoServerRuntime may also be downloaded from the mcs.woodward.com website, Support, Downloads page:
MotoTune 8.13.7.120

MotoServerRuntime 8.13.7.120

Please be sure to use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall the previous MT and MSR files.
The latest MotoServerRuntime releases install just a little differently than previous releases.
+++++
To install MT/MSR 8.13.7.120, the MotoTune developer team recommends:
1.  Exit all open MotoTune (and MATLAB / MotoHawk) sessions.
2.  Using Windows Task Manager, check for any "mnfeature.exe" processes running; if so, kill with "End Process".
3.  Using Windows Add / Remove Programs, uninstall: MotoTune
4.  Using Windows Add / Remove Programs, uninstall: MotoServerRuntime
5.  Delete folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\MotoTron\Server\"
    (this deletes files "mnfeature.exe" and "mnfeatureps.dll")
6.  Unzip the contents of the respective new installer zipfiles into a temporary directory.
    (MotoServerRuntime now has a helper folder "ISSetupPrerequisites" that
    must be in the same folder as the installer .EXE file when you run it.)
7.  Install: MotoServerRuntime (as administrator, on Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines)
8.  Install: MotoTune (as administrator, on Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines)
+++++
• If you have been using GCC in earlier MotoHawk releases, you will need to change your GCC installation for MotoHawk 2009b Beta 3 and subsequent releases.
• For customers using MotoHawk Custom Security blocks, you must use version 1.0.4 (or newer) of your security block for MotoHawk 2009b Beta 3 and subsequent releases.
MotoHawk 2010a releases require a valid MotoHawk license to do a code-generation build.  You can verify the licensing in your silver MotoTron USB licensing token (dongle) using the MotoTron License Viewer (Start, All Programs, MotoTools, MotoTron License Viewer).  "MotoHawk (v5.0)" or "MotoHawk (2010a)" is required to use MotoHawk 2010a releases.  To use MotoHawk 2010a releases, most users will need to have MotoHawk 2010a permissions added to their license tokens, and may also need to update their software maintenance agreements.
