Supervisory Controller

Supervisory Control Software

New Eagle has created a software template to enable rapid electric vehicle development. It is designed to interface with a variety of EV components and serves as a solid foundation for future development. The software includes validated startup/shutdown sequencing, torque management, component control and diagnostic strategies. It is available for either the Raptor or MotoHawk toolchains, and New Eagle will work with the customer to specify an appropriate controller based on the customer's requirements. New Eagle offers two options for providing the EV supervisory software template.

New Eagle Maintains Code

In the first option, New Eagle will customize the template according to the customer's requirements. Source code is kept and maintained by New Eagle. Typically, the software and calibration modifications require additional support from New Eagle in the form of an engineering contract. This option also includes a software license fee in any production supply agreement.

In the second option, the customer purchases and receives the template source code (this includes the project directory and MATLAB® Simulink® files). This device is not pre-programmed with EV display software like VeeCAN 320 EV Display; however, users can choose to develop display software themselves using Raptor-Dev or hire New Eagle to develop custom display software for their application.

The Raptor VeeCAN 700 is a 7-inch color display wrapped in a rugged, environmentally-sealed enclosure. The Raptor VeeCAN 700 has two CAN channels for monitoring, data logging or transmitting commands from the display over the CAN bus. The Bel Power Solutions 350INVCHGT150-120-240-8G is a 15 kW inverter/charger that converts AC to DC voltages in charge mode and converts DC voltages to pure sine wave AC in standalone or utility mode. In the standalone mode the inverter/charger could supply some AC accessories and in the utility mode is able to push energy back to the grid. The liquid cooled inverter/charger operates at 250-435 VDC and 120/240 VAC (50/60 Hz) split-phase. The inverter charger powers up to 15 kW in either direction. Features include very high efficiency, high reliability, low total harmonic distortion (AC), low output voltage noise (DC), and excellent dynamic response to load/input changes.
